The Goyang Cultural Foundation
The Goyang cultural foundation was established in January 2004 as the long-term project to promote culture and art in the city of Goyang and its environs.

With the opening of its first art center, the Goyang Oulim Nuri Arts Center in 2004, the local cultural life has visibly revitalized, and this led to more diverse and high-quality performances being introduced on stage at Goyang.

The foundation’s goal has been from the beginning “to build a city rich with international culture and art ” and having maintained this aim, it is finally ready in May 2007 to launch a vast compound for culture and artsin the latest fashion and on a grand scale, the Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Center.

The opening of the Aram Nuri will lay a cornerstone for related businesses to provide the finest contents, invite a variety of international performers, and for the community to experience the true delight of cultural life.

Goyan Aram Nuri Arts Center The Goyang Aramnuri Arts Complex stands adjacent to Ilsan main street and lies below Mt. Jeongbal, an interface between city and nature.

Aram Opera House &  Concert Hall  Most noticeable grand features of the Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Complex are Aram Opera House, specially designed for opera, musical, korea classical opera and ballet performances ; Aram Concert Hall ; and Saerasae Digital Theater, a facility for various experimental works of art.

Aram Nuri stands for “ a grand and beautiful world ” in Korean, and it represents the city of Goyang’s vision to accomplish Renaissance in culture and art that will flourish in this state-of-the-art complex for professional theaters.

The Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Complex, together with the Goyang Oulim Nuri Arts Complex ( in Deogyang-gu,Goyang), will be the foremost cultural bases for citizens of Goyang and residents of northwest Seoul. Most noticeable grand features of the Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Complex are Aram Opera House, specially designed for opera, musical, korea classical opera and ballet performances ; Aram Concert Hall ; and Saerasae Digital Theater, a facility for various experimental works of art.

Moreover, there are Norumok Outdoor Theater, an open-air stage surrounded by trees of Mt. Jeongbal; Aram art Gallery with movable-wall functions; Aram Nuri Library with a large collection of the academic aspects of Arts; and Aram Village offering various services to act as a community center and the communication channel between the arts complex and Goyang citizens

The Goyang Aramnuri Arts Complex stands adjacent to Ilsan main street and lies below Mt. Jeongbal, an interface between city and nature. The complex has a convenient, direct access to public transportation from Jeongbalsan station (Line 3) with its own exit connected by an escalator. Its unique location provides an optimal environment as a nature-friendly space for the arts.

Where Culture is Part of Daily Life, the Oulim Nuri Arts Center. The Goyang Oulim Nuri Arts Center was the first cultural hall to be built on a massive scale dedicated to the performing arts in Goyang, the closest city northwest of Seoul. The center also includes various types of sports facilities.

It is located in the heart of a beautiful, green area, Seongna Park which is reachable by public transportation and is within walking distance from Wondang subway station.

The arts center is an art venue that comprises three theaters, a main, a small, and an outdoor theater, as well as an art gallery, and it offers a rich program for both the modern and traditional stage performances, interesting art exhibitions and public-engaging lectures addressing cultural issues.

The name 'Oulim' derives from the wish to make the facility a place where Goyang citizens can 'gather at one place' and form a beautiful community.

'Nuri' means 'world' in Korean and it symbolizes everyone enjoying an abundant and happy life through culture and arts. The Goyang Oulim Nuri Arts Center, along with the Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Center, is a cultural powerhouse representative of Goyang and it plays the role of a center introducing Korean culture to Koreans and foreign residents in Korea, as it draws a new map of Korean culture in the 21st century.
